JD Souness

J D Souness Ltd is a privately owned family company that specalises in bulk cartage and skip bin hire.

Established in 1989, J D Souness Ltd was a general carrier located in James  street, Balclutha.  Later the waste services in Clutha and Gore districts were purchased, covering the districts from Edendale in the south to Waihola in the north.  At this time the company is contracted to Downer EDI Works to service the rural Clutha District Council transfer stations, also servicing businesses and industry within these areas on a weekly and monthly basis.  We also provide casual short term hire of skips. 

Cartage can be provided by five tip trucks, two trailers and one bottom dumper.  During summer we can cart hay and have silage bins available.  Over winter coal can be delivered around the Balclutha town. 

At present we are contracted to cart dairy pallets for the South Otago Grain Company (Vital Stockfoods), wood shavings from Hollows Timber, and gravel and rock for local farmers and contractors.
